I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. I work with clients from many different backgrounds, and have experience counseling individuals from age 12 onward, as well as couples and families.
My specialty of focus is trauma counseling, but I also have an extensive history of helping with anxiety and depression, as well as relationship difficulties and adjusting to life’s challenges. My counseling style is one of compassion and caring. My desire is to facilitate your growth and healing, while at the same time providing a safe space for you to share your emotions.
The therapeutic techniques I utilize consistently include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Cognitive Processing Therapy. These types of therapy styles explore the meanings we attach to significant events in our lives as well as to help break the cycle of negative thought patterns that have developed over time, and to help develop much more realistic and healthy mindsets.
My purpose is not to walk ahead of you, telling you where to go, nor is it to walk behind you, picking up the pieces, but rather to walk beside you, giving you support on your healing journey and working collaboratively with you to find solutions that work for you!
You’ll find that I have a soft approach, and that I will wholeheartedly encourage you to find strength and power within yourself. I fully believe in fostering growth and change through helping you discover your own ability to heal.
This is your safe space for counseling and you are welcome to message me on this site. Please be aware that it is my obligation to respond to messages in no less than 24 hours, but I do make it a priority to check messages as often as possible, and will likely respond in less than that. You do have the option of working with me through messaging, and I can help by providing useful information and tools for you via the messaging platform. You are also welcome to have live session with me, however, if you feel that would be beneficial, and I do those on an appointment basis. All information you provide to me, whether by messaging or any of the live session options, is confidential.
Please be aware that I do check my messages several times per day, but if I am in session or away from my phone or laptop, I may not be able to respond right away. I will, however, respond to your message as quickly as I am able.
If you are experiencing a crisis or emergency and are unable to remain safe, please contact 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Compassionate. Caring. Challenges thinking patterns. Absolutely a great fit for me.
As I continue working with Kim, the process gets tougher, but I truly enjoy it because I feel so much better for it. Therapy is tough, but she makes me feel confident, encourages me, and I really feel the difference. I’m so happy I’ve found someone who is helping me and is a good fit for me personally!
She is amazing and saving my life.
Kimberley has really helped me to see things from a different point of view. It’s been extremely helpful.
I have been working with my therapist, Kimberley Smith, for close to a year dealing with major anxiety, depression, past & new trauma, chronic stress, family & personal issues, an autoimmune disorder that causes mental health flare ups and more.
Kim is extremely knowledgeable, patient, calm and she can empathize with me on a deep level. She is truly rare and understands all of these layers in a way that no one in my life does or has.
I talk to Kim about everything that I'm going through. I worry & get anxious a lot, but I feel comfortable/safe talking to Kim. I trust her!
Kim is a partner working with me through my mental health maze and the effects that has on my physical health. She cares about my well being like a true friend.
I've been to other therapists. They never understood me or listened like Kim does. I feel more secure about myself when I talk to her. My anxiety calms down, and I feel like I can see light.
I've made a lot of progress (still am) with Kim's compassionate support and guidance, through each step.
Kim is always there for me, and we work through whatever happens or has happened together.
It is very helpful to have someone that you can trust and feel comfortable sharing life experiences and troubles with an unbiased way. Kimberly is a gem.
Kimberly is a very professional and attentive therapist. I’ve only had one session with her and felt a great difference in my life. She is very non judgmental and meets you where you are at in your situation to help you find relief, without being pushy or too opinionated on your situation. I completely recommend her!
Kim has helped me immensely over the past few months. I don’t know what I would do without her. She is kind and respectful and I know she truly cares about me and my health.
I have really enjoyed working with Kim thus far. She has given me some excellent tools to manage and correct negative thought patterns in my daily life. I am so grateful for her patience, understanding, and just for her listening to me and helping me work through my thoughts.
Always a plethora of information and resources, someone who provides true care.
Kimberley is easy to talk to and very wise. It’s like talking with your best friend.
Kimberley has been a wonderful support to me during a time of need. I can write to her knowing full well that her response will be thoughtful and caring.
I've talked to Kim twice and emailed several times with her. She's given me some great tools already! I feel much better knowing I have someone apart from the situation to talk to.
I feel very comfortable talking with her!
She is very nice!
Kim, was great to work with, very compassionate and knowledgeable. She sent several links that were spot on. Thanks!
She is very empathetic.
Very personable and easy to talk to. Highly recommend her.
