About me

Hi there! I'm so happy that you've taken the first step and reached out. My name is Kim Foskett and I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in CA and ME. I know from personal experience that reaching out for help can be scary. It's certainly challenging for many of us to be vulnerable, especially with someone new. The process of uncovering and discovering takes courage. My commitment to you is that I will always meet you with compassion, transparency and an overflowing toolbox from 23 years of clinical experience.

Since graduating in 1998 with my Master's degree in Counseling from Boston College, I've had the honor of supporting people of all ages through some of their toughest times. I specialize in supporting people through depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties and life changes like job loss and divorce. I believe whole heartedly in the possibility of growth and change. You will be in the driver's seat and I'll be by your side supporting you as your guide. I will help you highlight your strengths and find the answers that lie within you. Whenever possible I will utilize evidence-based or supported models, such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, etc. to support you in reaching your goals. I'll also throw in a healthy dose of humor and laughter along the way. Who says therapy can't be fun at times!

If you choose to work with me, I will offer a safe space and my knowledge, skills and techniques to help you work through your life difficulties. Ready to get started?

"Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It's about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen." Brene Brown

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kimberly Foskett. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I’ve been working with Kimberly Foskett for almost 3 months and within the first month, she changed my life. With her, I feel seen, heard and understood. I can tell she cares about my well being and she’s truly rooting for me~ it’s such a blessing to have this level of compassion and expertise from a professional.

I initially came to her for depression and ptsd and she did a very thorough intake with me. Through this detailed intake, she connected dots that no other therapists has made which led to a massive breakthrough for me.
We are now focused on EMDR and after a few sessions, we’re beginning to break ground.

Kim is warm, kind, intelligent, patient and very insightful. If you’re looking for a therapist to help you with depression, anxiety, ptsd~ she brings a wealth of knowledge alongside an unparalleled personality that makes you feel safe and heard.

Thank you Kim! Thank you for showing up for me.

I was lucky enough to be matched up with Kimberly a few months ago. I am so grateful for the time we have and the skills she has helped me gain. She is kind, responsive, and I feel like she genuinely cares. I have worked with several therapists in my life but none of them compare to Kimberly.

I am not a picky person but when it comes to finding a good therapist/counselor I rarely stick with the first person I find. I will always try to see if a good report follows suit, but as in any relationship you can tell when things are not quite right.
Kim was Better helps first suggestion found for me and everytime we end a session, no matter what emotional waters have been sailed on that day, I always walk away feeling ready to move forward. She is a great combination of empathetic, discerning and challenging for me. I feel like I can be an open book with her and though everything is a work in progress, I feel much better having her at my side.

I had such an amazing experience with Kim. She's patient, compassionate, and accessible. This was my first experience with counseling, and though I'm usually a person with many walls up, I felt as if I could be my authentic self during our sessions.
