Here is a bit of information about me. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, having at least ten years of experience working in the mental health field. Additionally, I've worked with people having different backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures. Many of whom presented areas of concerns and issues regarding stressors of military life, adoption and foster care issues , communication issues, family conflicts, relationship issues, loss and grief concerns, low self-esteem issues, adjustment issues, and anger management concerns.
I hope to help you take control of your life. The first step is your participation in a counseling process. In this counseling approach, one will acquire healthy coping mechanisms through a modeling and teaching approach.
I believe that each person has the capability to grow and change. I want to empower you, yet meet you where you are in the change process. Making changes can be hard. However, if you are ready for change then change is possible. I am here to help you through that process.
My primary therapeutic approaches are the Solution- Focused Model, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Strength Based Perspective. These therapeutic approaches can be change based on the individual's needs and goals because each person is unique and special in their own way. For this reason, the therapeutic approach should be fitted that way. For example, it is like customizing a suit. Not everyone is able to wear the same suit. It must be individually tailored to fit that person. This is the strategy I will use in applying the therapeutic approaches. It should be a good fit. Nevertheless, if one is seeking to achieve short-term empowered goals, one of the above sited approaches could be a perfect fit for you! Ultimately, by working as a team we can develop achievable, attainable, and measurable goals.
It is my primary focus to create a safe, non-judgmental space where information is shared and solutions are developed. You are the best narrator of your story. It is important for me to look at the issues/concerns through your lens. By discharge, the expectation is that you feel confident, empowered, and equipped with the coping skills that you need.
