I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a combined 18 years experience as a teacher and therapist. I believe that individuals are the experts regarding their own lives. Sometimes shame and guilt along with skewed perceptions of self can be barriers to living a happier, healthier life. I encourage people to practice vulnerability in a safe, validating space to explore issues that are holding them back from functioning the way they would like.
Through a person centered, holistic approach incorporating mindfulness, solution focused therapy, dialectical and cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing I guide clients through discovering their strengths and deconstructing patterns that may be holding them back from the life they deserve. Life changes, depression, anxiety and trauma among other things can cloud people's futures. Working together we can clear the way to feeling better.
I look forward to connecting with you !

Written on Apr 08, 2023 after therapy with Kirsten for 1 year on issues concerning stress, anxiety, relationship issues, intimacy-related issues, self esteem, and anger management
I started sessions with Kristen when I was in a very challenging time of my life and hit rock bottom. I knew I needed to make huge changes but I didn’t know where to begin. She offered me a safe, non-judgemental, supportive space over many months allowing me to rebuild my life, confidence and connections, and forgive myself and understand the decisions I made with the circumstances I faced. I’ve found time with her extremely valuable.

In the short time I have been working with Kirsten she has provided me with a variety of tools that help me feel more grounded and centered. My anxiety has decreased a great deal since we have been working together. It's been such a positive experience that I have already recommended BetterHelp to a number of friends. Written on Nov 03, 2022 after therapy with Kirsten for 2 weeks on issues concerning family conflicts, grief, parenting issues, and coping with life changes
What makes Kirsten stand out for me is her absolute warmth, compassion and empathy. She really, truly cares and roots for you. She made me feel absolutely at ease while I sorted through my messy feelings out loud (and cried one too many times). She isn't one to be pushy or to 'force' anything out of you; instead she gently guides you and gives you a lot to think about. For those who are venturing into this 'scary' therapy space for the very first time, Kirsten will make you feel at ease with her calm presence. I highly recommend her! :)

She lets me talk as much as I need and always has insightful questions and things for me to practice throughout the week. I'm so grateful for her.
