About me

My name is Kirsten Coveney Clarke. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is available to practice in both New York and Connecticut. I attended Fordham University for my master's degree and have been working professionally in the field for over 18 years. I have worked in many environments, with a specialty focus in mental health and substance use. I believe in a holistic approach to care, meaning that I want to understand not just what has brought you to therapy but the other circumstances that contribute to how you feel about yourself, others and the world around you. I have training in various approaches but value mindfulness strategies and active listening as a way to engage with people. I believe that everyone has the ability and the right to create a life worth living. Depending on what we have experienced in life, our view of the world is colored by our experiences. My desire is to help you to better write your own story so that you are able to be kinder and more gentler to yourself. We all deserve to be happy and to feel connected to others. I would love the opportunity to partner with you and work together to create positive change.

I highly recommend Kirsten has a counselor. More than a month ago, I started my therapy with her. I was in a very bad place in my life. For years, I been having trouble controlling my angry. She listens without any judgement. Also, she is very sympathetic and compassionate. Through sessions she has helped me realize how anxiety has been playing a big role in my life. With her help, I am learning how to control my angry before it takes over me. Looking forward to our next session. FIVE STARS!!!

Kirsten is a great person. I haven’t known her long but already I feel the help. She listen to me to the point where I’m very comfortable with expressing And sharing anything with her. Normally I don’t feel comfortable about talking to people but she definitely made me very comfortable and she also been helping me get threw my day step by step. I have anger issues something I’ve had since little I’m now 31 and this is the first time I try to seek help. She’s been very good and helpful to me. I definitely recommend speaking with her. I will definitely continue with her as long as I can.
