About me

Kirsten (Lundin-Dewey) Honkala is a person-centered therapist with experience treating anxiety and trauma related disorders as well as substance use and addiction. She received her Master’s in counselor education from Siena Heights University in Adrian, MI while raising her four children. She is known for her calm demeanor and ability to adapt quickly to meet the client’s needs, using a blend of cognitive-behavioral therapies, as well as motivational and creative therapies. Kirsten has diverse experience, having worked in mental health community agencies, medical case management, residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment and providing DUI education classes. She spends her free-time making art, doing home improvement projects and hanging out with her husband and their fur-babies. She is vibrant, warm, engaging and creative. Kirsten works with a variety of clients from children as young as 6 years old, adolescents, adults, couples and families and with issues such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, marital and family conflict and mild to moderate substance use disorders.
