About me

I hold a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology. I am licensed in Colorado as an Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have worked in the mental health field for 18 years, and I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns from depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and trauma. I have worked in a number of settings to include inpatient hospital, outpatient clinic, private practice, schools and justice system. I have also helped those struggling with acute and chronic conditions, as well as anger management, ADHD, grief and loss, and survivors of abuse.

While my counseling style is warm and interactive, I am also direct and solution focused. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I also believe in providing a safe environment for clients to share and grow. My approach combines cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, rational-emotive and client-centered counseling. I also appreciate an integrative approach to include yoga and meditation. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

I applaud you for having the insight to seek services and look forward to guiding and empowering you as you take the steps necessary to incite change in your life.

She is an amazing counselor, and has helped me so much over the past year. Her suggestions are always on-point, and her patience with my emotional journey is deeply appreciated. I strongly recommend her to anyone in need of support, guidance, and a very empathetic and pragmatic counselor.

Kirstin has exceeded my expectations for online therapy. The moment we were introduced, there was irony and we’ve just clicked every since. She gets me, and she challenges me to get outside of my tendencies by gently reminding me over and over. This could be annoying for her, but she does it calmly and patiently. I am continuing to learn from her as she sends me resources and follow-up notes constantly. I’m happy to have been matched with Kirstin, and even happier to have discovered BetterHelp.
