Dr. Kori Propst Miller, LMHC, LCPC
About me
I am a wilderness and adventure-loving mountain enthusiast living in Montana and have over 20 years of experience as a therapist and life coach.
In my work I model a way of being in life that serves to strengthen my clients’ resolve, grit, determination, self-belief, compassion, autonomy, belonging, and sense of curiosity. I approach therapy and coaching from a space of openness and intentionality, with a team orientation. Working together, we are partners in shifting your perspective and behavior so you can feel more vibrant and motivated in your life!
Every individual’s experience varies, and it’s the complexity of our lives that brings hope for rebuilding. My work combines family system’s theory with cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy with mindfulness and embodiment work, and a feminist lens with shame resilience theory. I am highly skilled in the areas of eating psychology, body image, and disordered behaviors with food. I’ve been professionally trained not just as a therapist but also as a coach and have worked with many athletes who want to learn how to develop a more trusting relationship with food and their bodies. I'm trained as a mindfulness meditation instructor and utilize mindfulness principles extensively in my work. I view everyone as inherently healthy and capable of change. I utilize a positive psychology and motivational interviewing framework to focus on your capacities and strengths to help you build more skillful ways of interacting with yourself, with others, with your emotions, and your mind! It's so easy to begin feeling stuck, but understanding how we get there is the first step! Self-understanding and self-discovery serve as the foundations for change!
As Walt Whitman shared, “Do I contradict myself? Very well then, I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes.” As humans and as healers, we need these multitudes, in addition to the permission to live our questions. Rilke provides another guiding principle for me in this quote, “…have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.”
I own Core Capacity, LLC and offer individual intensive online coaching services and online courses. My website is www.growyourcapacity.com
I look forward to exploring your questions with you and developing solutions for more empowered living!

Kori is amazing, and has been there to support me through a lot of really heavy stuff I've encountered the last year of my life. Not only was she able to help me through a very difficult time, but as things have turned around she has been great in supporting me and helping me move forward. I am so thankful for Kori and don't know where I'd be without her!
