About Me

Hi my name is Kristen I have several years of experience working with adults, children and family issues. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from Youngstown State University in 2007. I went on to earn my Masters of Science in Social Administration Degree from Case Western Reserve University in 2013. I have been a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Ohio since 2008 and received my Independent license in 2015.

I currently work with all ages with a wide variety of presenting problems at a private practice and through where I specialize in the treatment of individual and family struggles, anxiety, depression, anger management, stress of life changes (going to college, changing jobs, new relationships) and trauma. Joining Betterhelp is a process that enables you to work through the effects of emotional difficulties, as well as your relationships with others. I work to help my clients achieve deeper self-awareness so they can understand and identify the underlying feelings and thoughts that affect their relationships with themselves and others.

I will work to help you find more connections with others, within yourself, and to the world around you. I want to see you move past isolation into a fulfilling, connected life. I collaborate with my clients in an open, challenging, and warm environment. Together we'll work to better understand your issues and help you gain more self-acceptance, well-being, and empowerment. I most frequently uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, strength-based, solution focused therapy. My therapy style is empathetic but honest, I am optimistic and believe that everyone has their own strengths that just need to be tapped into. I believe it is very important to really listen to my clients’ to understand their goals for their life as I view therapy as a collaborative relationship to make positive changes in their lives.

I look forward to helping you with your journey!

Kristen is a wonderful, and understanding counselor. She gives good advice and gets back quickly.

Kristin has been extremely helpful talking with me through a very difficult time in my life. She has helped me to identify ways of moving forward when it seems impossible and to help me see past the negative. She is very kind and caring and that is evident through her counseling. I have been very fortunate to have her as a counselor.

In the short time I have worked with Kristen I have found a comfort. She truly hears me. I couldn't be happier with my choice to move forward with her and to better myself.

Kristen has been an excellent counselor so far. She is very prompt in her responses, and each time I receive a message from her I get excited. Kristin's messages make me feel as though she is truly listening to everything I have to say, and that she is trying her best to understand me in a nonjudgemental and supportive way. I appreciate her honestly and clarity in her messages. Although I have only been receiving counseling from Kristin for a few weeks, I plan to continue talking with her and relying on her for strong support as I try to make positive changes in my life. I would recommend her to anyone who is interesting in counseling!
