I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor in the State of Ohio and have been actively practicing for over 20 years. I have been a School Social Worker for over 21 years working with all age groups of children and I have also always provided professional counseling services through contract agencies. I have experience in working with young children with focus and behavioral problems, teens and young adults with issues such as neglect, abuse, trauma, grief, loss and anxiety/depressive disorders. Through my contract experience I have done forensic interviewing, worked with agencies to provide private counseling and have also worked for a Dual Diagnosis and Psychiatric hospital for over four years. I have experience with clients who have developmental disabilities as well and am versed in Educational jargon, plans and place settings. I understand what happens day in and day out at a school setting and the issues that occur in public schools.
My style and approach is always to build a therapeutic, successful relationship with my clients. I don't believe in taking in large numbers of clients and providing the same service to all. I have experience in trauma, grief and loss and also self-esteem. I believe in psycho-education with clients because I feel it is important for them to understand what they are going through and to accept limitations or diagnoses and move forward. I believe in working with the symptoms someone is having, not only looking into a diagnosis. I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-focused therapy. I am completing training in trauma certification with children and plan to continue this path.
I believe my greatest gift is the ability to make clients feel accepted and understood without judgment. I will help you to set goals and learn how to manage any symptoms you may be having and struggles to the best of my ability.
I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kristen Epperson . We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Lovely lady with a great personality! She’s like talking to a friend with lots of wonderful, logical, smart advice…she is always on time for sessions which is always a plus. Would highly recommend!
She's an amazing therapist and so far the only one that has kept my interest in getting therapy. Her and I work well together abd she has veen incredibly patient with my stupid ass.
What a fantastic fit, I'm so grateful!
She is great ! Easy to talk to and open up to!
Kristen has been absolutely great to work with. Early 2021 was one of the most challenging, anxious periods of my life. She helped me pull out of my anxiety and she did so in a joyful, personable way. I am so lucky to have found her.
I feel like I've made a true friend and confidant in her and would recommend her services to anyone!
I am very new to this, I feel very comfortable and able to express things. I am so glad that I signed up.
Super easy to talk to, and she gets you to talk and think about yourself in a friendly, indirect manner, which I appreciate.
She’s so personable and lively, but she’s also very honest which I truly appreciate.
Kristen always makes our sessions feel like talking to a friend rather than “a boring therapy session” which makes it sooo much easier for me to open up about my feelings.
At first, I thought she wouldn’t understand my feelings and thoughts because we were not from the same cultural background, but I was completely wrong. She’s very professional and friendly and understands every bit of everything I say.
Hands down the best, most supportive and tangibly helpful counselor/therapist I’ve ever worked with.
In a few session we had i felt accepted and validated by Kirsten. I did not experience any judgement a like. She might be the first therapist i might truly trust.
Kristen is lovely and super supportive and professional, she listens with care and understanding to what my issues are and offers a variety of knowledge to help tackle my problems.
Thankyou for BetterHelp, I am feeling more confident about my self and my life!
Kristen has been an amazing and invaluable resource as I work through both mental and physical health issues. She responds in an extremely timely manner and offers support and suggestions that give me different perspectives and hope that I can overcome the issues I'm struggling with. It is comforting to know I have her to speak to and know I will receive honest and thoughtful feedback. I would highly recommend Kristen to others.
I have had two sessions with Kristen so far, and have found her incredibly open and very easy to talk to. Kristen is a lovely lady and it is obvious that she cares about her clients and is keen to support them.
