About me

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 8 years of experience working as a psychotherapist in California. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems and career challenges. I also work within LGBTQIA+ community and I am a trans-affirmative therapist. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
I began my education by receiving two Bachelor degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I received a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology-Zoology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Afterward, I worked in the corporate world for 10 years in human resources and corporate recruitment and training. Then, I began graduate school at Pepperdine University. I completed my degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. After spending approximately 6 years in internship, I became licensed by the Board of Behavioral Science in California as a marriage and family therapist. I continue to build skills and knowledge through trainings and continuing education.
My counseling style is collaborative and interactive, respectful, warm, and practical. I believe in treating my clients with respect, sensitivity and compassion. My therapeutic approach tends to draw from a combination of humanistic, existential and narrative therapy. Because I believe in the power of each individual's life experience and the client's resulting perspective of these experiences, I will tailor the sessions and the treatment plan to meet each client’s unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. The follow quote has always resonated with me:
"I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become." ~Carl Gustav Jung
