I was born and raised in Montana. I earned my MSW from Walla Walla University, my LCSW in 2015, and have been working in mental health for 9 years. I have experience working with children in the school setting, ages 5-13, adults in the outpatient setting, and clinical oversight for adult group homes, adult day treatment and adult foster care. I take a client centered, solution focused approach to therapy. I do not view myself as an expert, rather a specially educated advocate and advisor; you are the expert on your own life and know more about your needs, skills and hurdles than I ever could. I believe that you can find and implement your own solutions if you are able to get outside your typical modes of thinking and coping. Through guided, well developed questions, discussion, brainstorming, problem-solving and processing, I can help you discover ways to adapt your current skills and to help you understand different ways people communicate in order to improve your situation and mental well-being. I look forward to getting to know you as we work towards solutions you design for your life.

I love Kristen. Out of all the counseling help I have had she is the best. She understands me, she never pushes me and is always there when I have a moment even if it is completely different from where we left off our last conversation.
