About me

EXPERIENCE
Since 2017, I have been helping people move forward through their life transitions, grief, anxiety, and relationship issues. I have provided counseling services through Gundersen Health System, La Crosse County (WI) Mobile Crisis Unit, Project Pathfinder Inc., and private practice. I engage in clinical consultation and ongoing training to help ensure ethical, quality care.

EDUCATION
I received my Masters degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Winona State University) and Human Development (Saint Mary’s University of MN). My undergraduate degrees are in Studio Art (University of MN-Duluth) and Visual Communications (Art Institute of Pittsburgh).

APPROACH
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, supportive, empathic, intuitive, and nonjudgmental. I am passionate about helping clients imagine possibilities, solve problems, develop skills, express themselves fully, and work toward creating new experiences of life.

I see my work as a counselor through a spiritual lens. From this perspective, I hold my clients’ presence, histories, and hopes as sacred. I value individual differences, and work to create an atmosphere of openness, trust, and acceptance. I experience counseling as a gateway into deeper connection with one’s self and others. And I believe these connections are the basis for emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

STRENGTHS
My strengths as a counselor involve deep empathy and unconditional positive regard for my clients. I’m particularly skilled in conceptualizing problems, visualizing possibilities, and helping empower clients to make meaningful change.

PERSONAL
I’m a mother and an artist. I like flower gardening, and expressive things like painting and dancing. I experience both counseling and art-making as therapeutic, transformative processes.
