Dr. Kristen Nugent, LCSW
About me
Congratulations for taking the first step. My approach to counseling is to meet people where they are and provide space for you to have a place where you can be empowered. I am an encourager who believes in the power of overcoming any obstacle through faith, family, and fun.
I have served as a clinical social worker, tenured professor, field education site supervisor, case manager, and wellness coach. In higher education, I have served as interim field director, intensive out-patient program director, chair of Phi Alpha Phi, an associate professor. My style in therapy provides a warm and friendly place in order for people to feel empowered through a compassionate environment. In addition, I have designed curriculum for online education for Social Work programs. In addition, I have published on Social Work and Addiction, Eating Disorders, Mindfulness, Wellness, and Family. I have presented at conferences and has had multiple TV appearances. However, my therapy sessions are all about going from the head to the heart with the ability to use the body, mind, and spirit for healing transformation. It's all about reconnecting back to the heart through a counseling style of art, skill, and experience. I look forward to working with you.
