About me

My experience in private practice has given me a foundation of understanding and compassion toward those struggling to work through a variety of life's difficulties. I have counseled primarily in the Christian counseling realm, but have had many clients who did not consider themselves "religious" as much as "spiritual" and many successful relationships with clients who considered themselves neither. I received my masters in counseling from the University of Norther Colorado in 2016. Outside of my education and counseling experience I believe my life experience has qualified me most for this role. I have raised two adult sons, one that struggles with addiction and mental illness. I have lived through the ups and downs of 31 years of marriage, and pressed into the hard work of processing my own trauma, relational and emotional difficulties. I feel most helpful to those experiencing anxiety, disillusionment, difficult relationships, struggles with addiction, spiritual questions, and a longing to find deeper meaning to their life's journey.

Reviews

Kristen has been a huge part of my personal growth in the last year. I was hesitant to get back into therapy after a poor experience in my teenage years, but I instantly felt comfortable talking to Kristen and never felt like I was being judged. Kristen has always validated my feelings and given me the tools to look at certain situations with new perspectives in order to benefit my mental health. I highly recommend her as a counselor - especially to those who are hesitant in starting their therapy journey like I was!
