About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have worked with adolescents and families in the Phoenix area for the past 18 years. I have worked with families who are in various stages of life transitions and enjoy helping both teenagers and their parents communicate and build upon their strengths. I have experience in faith based settings and partnered with a Christian ministry to develop resources to help adolescents heal from abuse.

My approach in counseling is to be client centered - that means that I want to help you feel comfortable and cared about so that I can support you in setting and meeting your goals. I use a cognitive behavioral approach and solutions focused brief therapy as a way to help support you in the changes you're looking to make. I have found that an online format for counseling is best used for general, supportive counseling and psycho-educational services. I will provide a safe place to express yourself, receive feedback, and set some goals to improve your mental/emotional well-being. It is important to note that I do not provide services pertaining to the diagnosing or the treatment of clinical mental health disorders. when working in an online telemental health format.

There has been so much growth in me in the last year. I don’t think it would have been possible without Kristi.

Betterhelp helped me in a moment where I felt vulnerable and overwhelmed with life. My therapist provided a safe and trustworthy environment for me to express myself and share my traumatic experiences without feeling I'm being judged or misunderstood. Thank you, Dr. Garrison, for your support and compassion :)
