About Me

Greetings! I am Kristin and I come to you with a wealth of experience. To give you some background, I was born and raised in the Chicago area. Somewhere along my life path in my 30's, I migrated to Wisconsin and have found it home ever since. My favorite place to be is at my home with my four legged babies.

I spent my undergraduate days in Central IL attending the University of Illinois. Upon graduation, life led me to a new adventure to the Southwest of our magnificent country. It was here that my spirit grew the most, attaining my Masters in Art Therapy. I attended classes, worked, and lived in Santa Fe, NM until life led me back to the Midwest to attain my internship hours. I have been living in the Midwest since.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Board Certified - Registered Art Therapist. I have been a practicing clinician since 2003 and have worked with a wide variety of clientele; including diverse populations with socio-economic backgrounds. My career started working with children and teens in the foster care system. As my career advanced I began working with more young adults and adults, with a wide variety of difficulties they experience. Niches that I am passionate about are grief and loss, exploring personal identity, as well as life transitions.

In working with my clients, I like getting them to think about their lives, what they want to change, and together creating a path for solutions to their problems. I view my approach as a team approach, it is not my place to tell my client what they have to be doing or not doing. It is their life journey to make those decisions. I am along for the ride, to challenge them on the approaches they currently choose and have chosen, and to gently push them to explore different options that could be more successful for them. I enjoy exploring with my clients what they are passionate about in life and how they can get to where they want to be. Therapy with my clients is a partnership and I look forward to exploring your path with you.

Kristin is incredibly respectful and offers gentle and wise guidance. I feel like she really understands my needs and always offers me a great balance of listening, affirmation, and then suggestions of what work I need to do to feel better about my life and my life situations. I always leave our sessions feeling good about the time spent and the potential ahead.

Kristin has been a great listening ear. She has pointed out things to me that I didn't realize before. She seems to have a sixth instinct to what is going on with me. I am very happy with the investment I have made in my mental health.
