I became licensed in 2014 (LCPC), having graduated in Fall 2013 from the University of Southern Maine's Rehabilitation Counseling master's program. I love working with adolescents and adults, striving to provide compassionate, patient, trauma-informed, and culturally-sensitive care. I have experience in helping others improve their self-care, develop more effective communication skills, set stronger boundaries, enhance interpersonal relationships (including parenting issues), improve time management skills, process grief and other difficult life transitions, and so much more. I am familiar with neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ issues, complex family trauma, and several other life experiences.
I draw upon several therapeutic modalities including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused therapy, Client/Person Centered therapy, and Psychodynamic therapy.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kristina Knabenshue. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Kristina is a wonderful therapist. I've only just begun with her and she has been VERY quick in responding to me. She listens and asks lots of questions and doing so really does validate my feelings. I recommend her to ANYONE who has feelings of being unheard or just needs someone to talk to. She will not let you down♡
