About me

Hi there. Thanks for reading my profile. Finding a good fit between client and counselor is really important, hopefully this information will help you decide if I might be able to offer you some support.

My name is Kris Cavanaugh. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Alcohol and Drug Counselor practicing in Oregon. I have been working in the counseling field for over 15 years and have experience with individuals coping with an array of concerns including anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship and family struggles.

Years of working with people has taught me that there is no one way to 'do therapy'. Individuals interact with their world in very unique ways based on how they have experienced life. I feel it is my job to understand how individuals perceive themselves and their worlds before I can offer to help them through a difficult situation. My style is interactive and supportive. My goal is not to label or judge anyone but to help people get through challenging situations and learn new strategies. I like to use strategies from cognitive behavioral and solution focused therapy to help people look at ways they are managing thoughts and feelings.

Reaching out can be a difficult thing to do, let me know if you think I can help!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kristine Cavanaugh. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Kristine is nice and so quickly identified areas where I'm struggling and offered practical and useful tips to help guide me through those problem areas. She is friendly and really seems to know what she's talking about without making it sound like you're talking to a therapist -- it's more like you're talking to a friend. I'd recommend her to anyone who is hesitant to opening up -- she makes it easy! :)
