Thanks for checking me out! I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) through the state of Wyoming and I've worked with clients in all types of settings, from all different backgrounds, of all different ages. Much of my professional experience has been helping clients with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, and certain types of addiction, as well relationships and grief. As both a therapist with four years of experience and as a client who has attended many years of therapy myself, I’ve realized how important it is that as therapists we both get good training and experience, while also exploring our own inner emotional landscapes.
Mindfulness is the bedrock of my work with my clients, but as more than just a tool I give them. Having practiced it extensively gives me the capacity to be fully present with you. Mindfulness and meditation have also helped me cultivate compassion and authenticity, so you can trust I can be honest, but gentle and patient with you.
Mindfulness is also a major part of my practice because my professional and personal experience is that underneath much of our emotional struggles is a history of various kinds of trauma. New research is showing the way trauma impacts our nervous systems by triggering old emotions and unhealthy ways of coping, even painful stories about who we are. By “attending and befriending” our emotions as they express themselves as thoughts and feelings using mindfulness, we can help “update” our nervous systems. We can gently, patiently, and compassionately help ourselves recognize that we are okay and begin to respond differently to our life circumstances. Clients have told me over and over how helpful it is to have this explained, and how it motivates them to do this work.
Tools and skills are also integral to this process. This is where I can give you a variety of specific mindfulness tools, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy exercises, to help cope with and navigate your symptoms. Being able to identify when we’re triggered and practice healthy ways of coping with those triggers allows us to slowly build our internal resources and resiliency. My experience teaching Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) means I have a solid toolbox to help regulate emotions, become more effective in relationships, and tolerate emotional distress. We’ll also explore what has worked for you so far, naming the strengths that are already serving you.
Insight into our inner workings, capacity to stay present with ourselves, and supportive tools all work together to allow us to make this journey. It doesn’t matter what we’re bringing to the table, whether it be profound grief or mild anxiety, we don’t have to soldier through on our own. In our hyper individualistic society where we may subconsciously believe we need to “pull ourselves up by our bootstraps,” this is a radical notion, and our nonjudgmental, authentic relationship alone can be deeply healing.
What both my clients and I have learned is that it is absolutely possible to change. I offer guidance and support from a place of integrity, from knowing the types of twists and turns of the journey, and integrating that with my professional experience having successfully helped diverse clients each with unique issues.
I look forward to working with you!

Kristy is very professional and nice. I find it really easy to talk to her, tell her my concerns and worries. She is great at listening to me and providing me with ways of working on myself, different perspectives which make me think and are super helpful! I feel better after our sessions and I'm seeing improvements little by little as I get to know myself better, thank you so much!
Kristy is an excellent listener, professiona,l and her experience in mindfulness practices has been very helpful and insightful.
To sign up with BetterHelp was the best decision I have taken in a very long time! And working with Kristy truly makes it a life-changing experience. I am going through a difficult time in my life right now, feeling confused, anxious, sometimes depressed - and absolutely not sure where this is coming from. Kristy is a very good listener, but she also quickly identified key points to work on which already prove to be extremely helpful in spite of the short time we have been working together. I have full trust in her competence, and very much like how she is guiding me through the reflections both on- and offline. With her I am in the best hands possible!
Kristy is so professional and knowledgeable and has been super-supportive. She's already helped me so much in beginning to address past trauma and find better ways of managing trigger situations and the inevitable friction in relationships. I highly recommend her!
Kristy is a great listener and makes the person feel at ease at all times. She provides different points of view and allows the person to look at their problem from a different angle. Always feel comfortable and secure when discussing my feelings and thoughts.
Kristy has been great. She challenges me but doesn’t push me to a level of discomfort or pain. I appreciate her for the help that she’s given me thus far.
Kristy is a kind, understanding councilor that listens to me well, and she has helped me see things in myself that I had never even thought about. I highly recommend her to anyone that needs gentle guidance, and someone that supports you even when you don’t know how to support yourself. She’s a great counselor.
Kristy is amazing. I feel validated, respected, and cared for.
I loved working with Kristy. I was able to share things in a safe environment and felt I was heard. Kristy never missed a detail and gave me great tools to handle certain issues and situations. I'm so glad to have been matched with her and would warmly recommend her! Her professionalism and friendliness ensured a great counseling experience and helped me a great deal. Thank you, Kristy!
Kristy is great. She got to the core of my issue right away.
I was skeptical of using BetterHelp at first, I didn’t think it would be beneficial at all, however since I’ve been chatting with Kristy, I’ve learned a lot about myself and my surround emotions. Kristy listens attentively and acknowledges my thoughts. She validates my opinions and feelings and this makes me feel important, and makes me feel confident. Kristy specializes in sinfulness something I wanted to explore more, I’m grateful and I couldn’t have been paired with anyone better. I enjoy chatting with her as I find her approach very comforting, almost like confiding in a friend it. After each of our sessions or her message responses I feel like a weight has been lifted off, I can breathe again and resume back to my daily activities happily. She’s also provided me with great tools and I look forward to working with her more.
Kristy is such a wonderful listener and really got to the bottom of my issues pretty much straight away. Having her ‘holding my hand’ during a difficult time of my life has been very important to me. Kristy is teaching me about mindfulness which I had never known before. Working through the key issues one at a time has helped to strip away the dark clouds. I highly recommend Kristy to anyone, particularly mature ages people. The respect, kindness and genuine support she offers is outstanding.
Kristy has been professional and kind. She has listened to me and kept in contact with me regularly. She provides insight and conversation that is beneficial to me during this time in my life. I’m grateful and thankful for her.
Kristy has helped me find many ways to deal with and/or cope and/or heal from a variety of issues. She is caring, kind, compassionate and so easy to talk to. The positive changes I’ve made in my life in just a short time are beyond noticeable. Her reinforcement and encouragement is amazing!
I think Kristy is great! She tackles one issue at a time without judgment and doesn’t let little details get by without addressing them. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone who inquired about a counselor.
