About me

My name is Krystal Pope and I am a licensed psychologist in California. My educational background includes graduating with my PhD in Clinical Psychology with a Forensic Specialty while at the same time completing my law degree. I believe the interaction between these two fields of study has provided me a unique perspective in treating my clients in that I analyze the issues from multiple angles, not just those directly related to MH issues. I have practiced in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient community mental health, and forensic settings (for treatment and evaluation) as well as completed a postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychological evaluations. I believe my experience in these multiple diverse settings helps me understand my client's experiences in a way that enhances your therapeutic benefits. Further, the intersection of my forensic psychology and legal training gives me a unique perspective when working with first responders (i.e. law enforcement, fire fighters, doctors, nurses, etc), lawyers, social workers and others coping with the stressors of these professions. My work with incarcerated patients experiencing the stressors of isolation, fear, and depression will directly translate to community based clients with similar concerns as a result of COVID-19.

Dr. Pope has been a rock for me over the last 5 months. I didn’t have high expectations for an online therapist, but I am so impressed by the quality of care I have received. She listens and offers very helpful, concrete steps I can take to improve my mental health. She has a very authentic way of guiding our conversations and I appreciate the unique perspective she offers. I am so grateful to have found a great therapist through this platform.

I met with several counselors before continuing to work with Dr. Pope. She works coming from a place of understanding and active listening. We settled on a solution based plan and she helped me reframe my own thoughts and how effective therapy can be.
