About me

Admitting to yourself that you need support can be a difficult first step. Life is complex and trying. Navigating relationships and addressing everyday stressors can feel tedious and overwhelming at times. It is especially hard when you feel stuck and alone. I'm glad you are taking the first step towards building a stronger relationship with yourself. I am glad you are here. Our work together will be collaborative and relaxed. My main focus is to ensure that you feel safe and supported while exploring the difficulties present in your life and working to help you create positive changes.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 13 years of experience working directly with children, adolescents, families, and adults. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 with a Master's degree in Social Work with a concentration in children and adolescents, and moved to the District of Columbia to begin a career in school mental health. I have worked in the public school system at middle and high schools in the District providing direct counseling services to students managing learning issues, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, post traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, substance abuse issues, and family dynamic struggles. I also have extensive experience providing grief/loss counseling to children, teens, adults, and families.

My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic. I draw from various therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I have a special interest in supporting clients dealing with stressful life transitions, anxiety struggles, trauma management, low self-esteem, grief/loss, and family discord. My goal is to help you make peace with your life, to learn resiliency, and to uncover untapped potential. I look forward to helping you on your journey towards healing.
