About me

We all experience challenges in our lives which can feel overwhelming. Support is such a valuable tool; however, we are often hesitant to reach out due to the reluctance to discuss and confront troubling issues. So, if you have taken this step, I know you possess the courage to face some of life’s challenges and I know you are a resourceful person! I will work with you to discover and gain confidence in your abilities to respond to problems, changes, and life’s sometimes unpredictable circumstances.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Pennsylvania and a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor in the State of New York. I have my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counselor and Counselor Education. I have an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology. These two subject areas of expertise complement each other and allow me to provide not only effective psychotherapy but also an understanding of the mechanism of action psychotropic medications provide to address specific symptoms. I have been involved in behavioral health counseling for the past 10 years working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I provide office-based therapy which I balance with teletherapy. My counseling style involves using empathy with a solution-focused approach within a motivational interviewing spirit. I have many years of experience in the counseling field addressing life transitions, addiction, job and sport performance concerns, relationship issues, stress and anxiety, anger management, career, legal complications, depression, trauma, and grief and loss.

This process can be an empowering experience giving you the insight to accept, change, grow and accomplish whatever you identify as your goals. I believe the therapeutic relationship can be a rewarding and remarkable experience. I take great care in the work I do to understand you and your needs. I would be honored to be invited to witness and walk with you on your journey during this chapter in your life story. Whatever your goal or motivation, counseling can be a rewarding adventure of acceptance and discovery.

Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr. stated, “One's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.” Our best thinking got us to where we are today, and by expanding our thoughts we can get to where we want to be. My role is to walk beside you as your mind, body, and spirit expand to new dimensions. I believe that we all have our own answers; however, they are sometimes covered by life's challenges and stress. My role is to help you uncover the answers that make sense for you.

Every one of us can experience satisfaction and fulfillment in life. I am passionate about the field of psychology and counseling and am committed to being a consistent support to you as you navigate life’s challenges. I have a flexible schedule including days, evenings and weekends. I look forward to knowing you!
