About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas with over 4 years’ experience working in the mental health field as a counselor, mentor, motivator, coach, and facilitator. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, conflict resolutions, life transitions, substance abuse and addictions, spirituality, complicated grief, PTSD, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, ADHD, and many more. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
My counseling style is warm, empathetic, interactive, and integrative. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach is always dictated by the specific needs of each client. I utilize techniques from narrative therapy to externalize negative storylines and emotions that dominate one’s life; while also incorporating CBT, DBT, SFBT, and strategic counseling to challenge negative thinking patterns, identify emotion regulation, and encourage change through each individual’s possessed strengths through forward focus, and dismantling dysfunctional behaviors. I celebrate diversity and honor the uniqueness of each individual and thus provide a safe space to express the genuine needs of the client.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life; and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you on that journey. As someone who has dealt with my own share of life’s issues and challenges, and overcame them, I truly humbled to be able to assist you in obtaining your desired state of being!
So, I truly look forward to working with you!

So far, and we are early on in our sessions, Latisha has been great. Offers understanding and has explained several ways to connect.

I’ve been to a good number of therapists and they often either seem to tell you what you want to hear (which isn’t helpful) or they don’t seem to do anything but listen (also not helpful). Latisha feels genuine and real, which is important to me. She provides me tools to work on my issues/concerns. She’s definitely supportive but doesn’t just tell me what I want to hear. I appreciate she’s there and I feel there is progress being made. She’s very intuitive and she listens. She pays attention. I feel heard and I’m glad she’s my counselor.

I have had very few sessions with Latisha, but I felt like from the first call she understood my struggles. I don’t know how, but she was able in a short 30 minute session to evaluate and understand some of my pains. I love that she was able to relate to me on a personal level. I was impressed with her in the first session for having me in borderline tears because she totally understand my struggle. Do yourself a favor and schedule a session with her.
