About me

Congratulations...please take a moment to give yourself a pat on the back, You have just taken the first, very courageous step towards a "better you". Seeking professional help is not always easy, but you did it!
My name is LaTrenia Moore. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Kentucky. I am also a National Certified Counselor. I have been providing therapy/counseling for the last 4 years. I completed my Masters of Arts in Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University in 2016. I also hold a Masters of Arts in Education . I am a former teacher with 15 years of experience at the elementary and middle school level. My degree in education has assisted me in providing therapy to families and children who may be experiencing parenting and academic issues with their child/children.

I am originally from Chicago. I am a former military wife and have traveled and lived in several states, as well as residing in Germany for 3 years. As a former military wife and current counselor at a middle school on a military base I have a vast amount of experience and knowledge as it relates to working in both the military and civilian sector. I have experienced first hand the challenges of being a military family member, as well as transitioning to the civilian world. My work experience also includes, but not limited to , working in community mental health facilities, university populations, youth group homes, as well as women's shelters in which I provided individual. family and group therapy.

My counseling style is very empathetic, mindful and client centered, yet direct and straight forward. I believe in establishing a good rapport with my clients and establishing a safe place for counseling in which the client and I will work collaboratively to address the problematic areas of life that they may bring to therapy and attain the goals in which they have set for themselves.

I incorporate evidence based techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I view the therapy alliance as a partnership in which mutual respect, honesty, communication and a commitment to "do the work" as necessary components to the therapeutic process.
Again, congratulations on your very courageous first step toward healing .I look forward to helping you obtain the tools to help you navigate through your day to day life experiences.
Whatever your issues or goals may be, I am here to support and empower you.
"Come, let's take a walk together on the path toward healing".
