Dr. Latrice Love

(LPC, DBA)

About Me

Greetings! I am Latrice Love. I currently hold a Master’s Degree in professional counseling and I have worked as a professional counselor for over 10 years. I am licensed in North Carolina and Georgia. I attended Chaminade University for my undergraduate degree in Psychology. I have a Master’s from Central Michigan University in Human Resources Management and another Masters in Counseling from Webster University. I also have a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. I am a skilled clinician that supports treatment to individuals from all walks of life with varying diagnoses including but not limited to: depression, stress, anxiety; relationship issues; parenting concerns; motivation/self-esteem issues; and career and financial concerns. I am experienced in utilizing CBT, TF-CBT, and DBT.

I take a holistic approach to counseling to ensure that I focus on the whole being to assist individuals with accomplishing their goals and desires. Through my practice, I used a concept I developed through my book called Journey from Survivor to Overcomer where I developed what I call the L.O.V.E. Model. Learning. Observing. Visualizing. Evolving. I work tirelessly using these concepts to help individuals unlock their full potential. Seeking out counseling can feel overwhelming and scary initially. I have sat on both sides of therapy and I am more than willing to move at a pace that is comfortable to you. Get excited and be proud that you are willing to take this step. I am here for you and will remain present for this awesome journey through L.O.V.E.

I will tell you this. I have been with at least 6 therapists over the years. I also tell people who are shopping for a counselor, for the first time, that shopping for a counselor is no different than going on dates!!! If you don't have a very good feeling from the beginning, you may as well try another one!!! I have gained a great insight into this and I am very great full to you, Dr Love. Very compassionate and obviously non judgmental.

I've been working with her for a few weeks, and I really enjoy how straightforward she is. Sometimes, my problems can be traced back to trying to do too much or taking on too much, and her simple, get back to basics approach has been really helpful for me.

Dr. Love was understanding and knowledgeable enough to make me more aware of the depth of my problem and give me strategies to address it. She also took my concerns seriously, which made me feel comfortable talking very early on.

Dr. Love is extremely supportive and because of shared and similar life circumstances, she is easy to talk to without me feeling judged. She is awesome at her craft. I would definitely recommend her to others.

I’ve never had therapy before. I didn't think I’d ever need it, or that I’d feel pathetic or bad about it but my sessions with Dr Love really changed that. She’s attentive, understanding and reliable. She gave me tools and options to cope with what was happening in my life and it changed how I felt and now I look at things differently with a new perspective. She is definitely someone I’d recommend.

Listens without judgment and works with you. Very validating and offers practical and authentic feedback like speaking with a friend in confidence but with all the credentials. Gave me more peace during a traumatic experience.

Listens without making me feel weird or sensitive or crazy or dumb which is rare and offers supportive, intelligent help and support as if it’s from a trusted friend

She takes her time and let's me rant on and on, and let's me get what ever I need off my chest and she truly listens. No matter how much I talk she gives me all the attention I need and helps me make it through.

Dr. Love is amazing! She has the ability to make an online platform feel as though I’m in her presence on her couch! She has challenged me in so many ways, and walked me through some very hard issues. She doesn’t beat around the bush, she meets you where you are and helps you process through whatever you are facing at that moment. While being absolutely professional she expresses herself in a way that I can easily understand. She never talks above my head and is far from stiff and aloof. Her counseling style is comforting, nurturing, but still straight forward and raw. She is a breeze to talk to and is far from judgmental, she is understanding and takes the time to really to gain a from grasp on not just your issue at hand, but who you are, where you’ve been and where you want to go. I’m so thankful for Dr. Love’s help, she is an embodiment of her name and given me so much hope and a deeper appreciation for this field.

Dr. Love is very understanding and the best choice I've made so far... she is great at listening and there's few people I feel comfortable with but I trust her judgment completely!!!

I had my first session with Dr. Love and I have to say it was really good. She listened to what I had to say, was very easy to talk to, very kind, compassionate and understanding. Where her expertise comes in is that she understood my situation, clearly reflected it back to me and has created a framework that will guide us both in my journey. This is very, very comforting and makes me want to participate in every way towards the success of my journey. I highly recommend Dr. Love. She has a great name too!
