Laura Kinney

(LCSW, LISW, LMHP)

About Me

My name is Laura Kinney. These are trying times. You deserve support; it's never been a better time to reach out. You CAN heal!

I work primarily with survivors of trauma, childhood emotional abuse/neglect, and/or narcissistic abuse.
I believe anxiety and depression (and emotions in general) are messengers, showing us where we have not yet come in contact with our authentic self, where we have trauma, where we have old wounds, and where our current day to day lives are out of balance.

Mine is an eclectic approach that involves examining early life and family patterns and how they lead to our current functioning. Healing from trauma. Going forward with courage. I believe we can prune the tree all we want, but I am more of a roots worker.

Are you ready to shift?

This is a side by side journey, and taking this step is a powerful one. Let's talk today.

Laura is kind, compassionate, resourceful and more importantly, extremely objective. I was going through the most difficult emotional and mental periods of my life, and Laura was able to guide me through it with tremendous patience. I can't thank her enough for giving me a deeper understanding of myself, and helping me solve my current mental health issues.

I have worked with therapists in the past and always felt like it took a long time to really get to the heart of my concerns. Laura tuned into my needs on the first visit and we covered more ground than I might have in a month somewhere else!

Laura is friendly and courteous. But also knowledgable, you don't get judged with her. And she allows you to discuss your emotions.

When you talk with her, you feel you are talking to an old friend.

Laura is very lovely and kind. She is understanding and listens to your struggles and needs without judgement. She offers a variety of ways to explore and deal with your past, tailoring the sessions to the person's needs. I love the way she gave me a new perspective on my current situation and offered me new ways of support in my journey to better my mental health.
