I earned my Bachelor's of Social Work at Wright State University and worked in the therapeutic foster care setting, Department of Social Services Children's Services Unit, and inpatient behavioral health unit for multiple years prior to returning to school. I earned my Master's Degree in Professional Counseling at Liberty University where I learned how to incorporate the Bible into healing. I have been in the private practice setting for the last 5 years and I thoroughly love walking with those who are hurting and helping them heal.
I believe that a trusting relationship is the key to building a foundation for change. I offer a judgement free place to express your hurts and your feelings in order to identify areas for growth. As you grow, I will walk alongside you to celebrate each accomplishment and heal from the hurt you have been through.
Much of my work has been focused on re-framing thoughts surrounding traumatic experiences. I've learned that through thought restructuring, depression and anxiety can be reduced while self-confidence is built. I teach mindfulness techniques to help remain in the moment and to reduce the power of a panic attack. I have learned a lot through my wonderful schools, but I have learned just as much through my experiences in this life.
I am honored that God has chosen me to help others and I truly look forward to each day I am able to walk with someone through their mess. You weren't created to do life alone and I know that God has purpose in every situation to build you up to be better today than you were yesterday.
I look forward to our journey together!

Laura is one of great experience and expertise. She’s very personable and easy to talk to. I’ve tried many other counselors before but Laura makes it easy to share. She met me where I was and is gradually helping me to get where I want to be.
