Lauren Mariotti

About Me

Welcome to your journey of health, exploration and healing. I focus treatment on restoring hope by using a strength-based approach to building self esteem and self-worth. I will work with you on instituting concrete coping skills to rewire neural pathways that have been hardwired to perpetuate depression, anxiety and unhealthy behaviors. I have a strong commitment to cultivating self awareness and personal goal achievement by finding natural balance and rhythm. I help clients achieve lifestyle balance by focusing on integrative nutrition and holistic wellness. I have observed the connection between trauma and mental health symptoms and am experienced in working with people who have been negatively impacted by trauma. I also have substantial experience providing treatment for addiction and substance misuse and working with family members of those suffering from substance use disorders.

I am currently pursuing my Horticultural Therapy certification with the New York Botanical Garden and I incorporate plant life into my practice to promote psychological well-being, exploring themes for wellness that have been embedded in nature since the beginning of time. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Boston University and received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. I have developed my counseling skills through experience in a variety of settings including hospitals and schools over the course of the past 10 years. I have worked with clients of all ages ranging from older adults to children.

I live in New York and enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, cultivating my market garden, exploring new cultures, and crafting.

Lauren is really great! She is helping me to understand more about myself. She has taken the time to get to know me and what is going on. It feels like she really listens. More importantly she is giving me the tools that will help me not just now but also in the future. I am so glad I got matched with her!
