About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Colorado with 6 years of experience in providing direct mental health and behavioral counseling. I have worked with individuals with a variety of mental health and behavioral issues such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship, family problems, self-esteem, and confidence issues. I have over ten years of experience working with survivors of crime and violence. I have helped first responders, military members, Peace Corps volunteers, and crime victims immediately following a traumatic event to recover and find healing.

My therapy style and approach is trauma-centered and person-focused. I am interactive and warm and believe in treating everyone with respect, compassion, and transparency. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy primarily influences my theoretical focus, along with Solution Focused Therapy, to establish goals and understanding of your concerns. It is extremely important to collaborate with you to tailor my treatment and approach to what works best for you and your needs. You are the expert on you, and I am here to help guide healing and growth alongside you. I believe this authentic connection facilitates the counseling relationship and aids in healing and growth throughout treatment.

I am trained and experienced in EMDR therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. I am also a yoga teacher and incorporate breath work and movement with some of my clients. In-person I offer Acudetox therapy for substance use and stress reduction. My holistic and eclectic approach provides a range of services while also finding the method and plan that works best for you. I also draw from a somatic therapy, a holistic therapy that studies the mind-body connection regarding the psychological past. I utilize this theory to understand and treat past traumas that are disrupting, both physically and mentally.

While you may feel lost now, that is not an indication of how your life will continue. It takes a lot of strength and willpower to work towards a more fulfilling and happier life, and if you are ready to take the first step, I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

She is very concerned about my well being and checks in with me often. She is very kind and good at her job.

I’ve only been working with Lauren for two weeks but I’m very thankful to have found her. I had gone through multiple therapists before and therapy in general scared me because of the severity of my mental state. But now I feel heard and understood, I’m not just being seen to be “fixed.” I feel comfortable and cared for with the knowledge and tools Lauren has offered. She’s the help I really needed.

Lauren has been great. She's really responsive. She always addresses my concerns and provides a clear path moving forward as well as summarizes what we've discussed.
