Hello, and welcome!
Please see the following for information regarding my background, education, clinical experience, and therapeutic approach.
I was planted and grown in the Pacific Northwest, moved to Pennsylvania for graduate school, and eventually settled in New Jersey. I am thankful to have this opportunity to provide clinical services for others, and I appreciate the effort you have made to be here.
I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology from Temple University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Washington. I received my graduate training at Temple in clinical psychology and neuroscience, and began providing therapy and neuropsychological assessment services for the surrounding Philadelphia community in 2014. In 2016, I practiced as a clinician for pre-adjudicated and adjudicated youth. Most recently, I worked with adults requesting or in need of mental health services during periods of incarceration. I am currently licensed in the states of Washington, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. This means that I can only work with clients located within these state lines.
Much of my clinical practice thus far has been related to managing and coping with the following:
-Anxiety, panic, fear
-Coping with incarceration
-Anger and aggression
-Grief and loss
-Intense negative emotion
-History of self-injury and suicidal behavior
As a therapist, you can expect that I will be reliable, ethical, patient, empathetic, fully present, and accepting. Approaches to counseling will be personalized, depending on your expressed goals and/or concerns brought forward. I hope to accurately understand your perspectives and situation so that we may collaborate on reaching your personal goals for mental health and well being. Generally, I will aim to respond to asynchronous messages (those left on the counseling page) within one to two business days (M-F). Further, I look forward to scheduling regular live sessions to keep us on track. Frequency of sessions will vary depending on what we decide together.
There are many reasons why an individual may decide to seek counseling, and further endeavors are likely to arise as discussion and insight develop. Through this healthcare platform, I extend an offer to support you through whatever the journey brings.

Lauren is a fantastic councilor. She is understanding, perceptive, and kind. I cannot recommend her enough.
Lauren is kind and patient in her approach. She makes you feel heard and that your needs are a priority. She lets you drive the conversation while making sure to offer you tactical advice on how to approach the situation better the next time.
Lauren is one of the most kind, calm, and properly educated person I know. She is always very level headed with plenty of options and resources for each and every need that I bring to her attention. She is personable and always so pleasant to chat with. I have done counseling before and I have never had such a wonderful experience, like I do with Lauren.
She is fantastic! She is a good listener, very knowledgeable, sincere, and patient. Every session she comes prepared and remembers what we have talked about and worked on in previous sessions. She is always very focused on me and seems to genuinely care about my well-being. From the start, my therapeutic relationship with her has been natural and easy. I highly recommend her and believe her to be extremely talented and accomplished.
Lauren is very understanding, listens to everything without judgements, offers different practices, techniques and solutions to any problems i have. She has helped me immensely so far and i think, if I'd been paired with a different therapist, i would not have stuck with this app and therapy.
Laurent Uyeji has consistently listened intently to my issues regarding my breakup and fear of being alone, and has always responded in a timely and insightful fashion. I really couldn't ask more from a counselor. I had a therapist in the past who said barely anything and I remember getting very little from my time with him over a whole year of counseling. Lauren knows how to ask the right questions and give answers that are wise and informative. I feel like I am talking to someone that cares and is seriously considering ways to interact with the things I say. None of the questions she asks feel generic or insincere - they always are directly related to the immediate topic at hand and guide my thinking in ways that I feel actually growth. I would highly recommend Lauren to anyone seeking help with dealing with intense emotions.
Lauren is an excellent counselor, she is empathetic and makes an effort to plumb my depths even when I don't give her very many clues...
