My name is Lauren Young I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in the state of Tennessee. I started my practice in a community mental health agency in the state of Tennessee gaining perspective and understanding of how poverty, addiction, trauma, and other stressors, can truly impact an individual and also impact a family dynamic. I have worked with families and individuals who have experienced anxiety, depression, abuse/neglect, parenting difficulties, stress, loss, and the frustrations of life. I also have over 6 years of experience working with adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life stressors, and body image issues.
I would describe my approach as empathetic, warm, goal oriented, and client centered. I use Cognitive Behavioral therapy and Solution focused therapy to help my clients set goals and objectives, work through their stressors, and feel empowered once they have met their goals. I am also a Christian who is opened to discussing spirituality throughout sessions.
I earned my Bachelors Degree at East Tennessee State University in Psychology and then went on to earn my Masters Degree from Milligan College.
I have been married for 2 years. Both my husband and I work so navigating work and family life is always a task I can truly relate to.
I look forward to talking with you.

Lauren is there for me when my previous therapist would bail on me every time we were supposed to meet. She has been amazing!

Lauren is an amazing therapist and human being. She gives you the tools you need to succeed in therapy. She listens, understands, sympathetic, and gives a judgement free place to talk about anything. She is a 10 out of 10.

I have only been working with Lauren for about 2 weeks now but I already love her! As someone who struggles with anxiety therapy is hard, especially when it comes to texting through out the week even when it isn’t a scheduled live session. Lauren makes me feel seen, heard and I am comfortable enough to open up to her and message her through out the week. She doesn’t just give generic responses, she is a therapist that actually takes the time to understand and dive deeper into my disruptions and feelings to get to the root of it all. She also gives me challenges and goals to keep me on toes and help me take care of my mental health. I just started working with her like I said but I am excited to continue working with her! I can already tell she is great!
