About me

Welcome to my page. I’m so glad you’re here and are taking the first step to getting the help you need.

Do you feel like you’re stuck in patterns you can’t seem to change? I believe that the most important part of counseling is the relationship between counselor and client. I foster that relationship by creating a collaborative, warm, and comfortable environment where you can relax and explore what brought you in to my office. My approach is to be open minded and address the whole person by utilizing modalities of treatment that fit individual needs of clients. I see my role as your counselor is to give you the space to navigate through life’s stressors, reprocess distressing experiences, and increase self-awareness. I am passionate about working with individuals who just feel stuck and need some extra guidance to get through a difficult time.

I have experience working in a variety of settings including a domestic violence shelter, an in-patient treatment facility, and non-profit agencies. I have experience with individuals, couples, and children. I have experience working with all members of the adoption triad. I love working with people of all ages, genders, races and backgrounds. As a longtime member of the amputee community, I was involved in co-founding and co-leading a support group for amputees, their families, and caregivers.

An absolute rock star of a therapist. I cannot say enough good things about Lauri and how she has helped me during one of the worst periods of my life. I am so sad that I cannot continue to see her but know that this means that someone else will be allowed the benefit of her amazing therapy. 10/10, 5 stars, would always recommend!

Lauri is a highly skilled, compassionate clinician who meets her clients where they are at and provides a safe space to explore possibilities, and navigate difficult conversations. As a queer woman, I am grateful to find a therapist who is affirming and supportive. I would recommend her to everyone.

Responds in a timely manner. Responses aren’t bland/open-ended

In a short amount of time, Lauri has helped me immensely. I needed someone to talk to and help me sort through feeling stuck. I've already gotten so much more than I'd hoped for and am looking forward to continuing to work with her.

Laura S. is just the embodiment of what humanity should look and feel like. Her conversation is kind but honest; friendly yet professional. I didn’t come in to this experience thinking that I would enjoy it but she is helping me to realize that if I feel strongly about something I should do something about it. I am grateful for Laura as a person and as a counselor.
