About me

Hi.

I was trained as a clinical social worker and certified as a provider of behavioral medicine at Boston University and graduated in 2006. Behavioral techniques are a cornerstone in my approach to treatment with clients, providing clients with the opportunity to become engaged and actively participate in their own treatment. In addition, I seek out continuing education and training opportunities in cognitive behavioral therapy in an effort to help my clients develop an understanding of their behavior. I use these techniques with a whole health perspective, looking at managing mental health symptoms through focusing on nutrition, exercise, and self-care. I have used this approach in both hospital and outpatient settings with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. My clients have struggled with various concerns including depression, anxiety, work and life situational stressors, grief and loss, family dysfunction, marital issues, infertility, Bipolar disorder, chronic disease management, and insomnia. My belief is that by providing clients with tools to enhance their skills, they can ultimately learn to self-manage many of their own symptoms.

When not working with clients, I enjoy spending as much time with my family as possible. I have two young children, three years old and one year old, both conceived after years of struggling with infertility and undergoing IVF treatments. This is an area in which I am passionate about learning and offering support to other women and couples facing similar problems. I enjoy running and strength training, spending weekends on the beach with my friends and family to soak up some sun, and cooking (and eating) delicious healthy food.

I sincerely hope that I can spend some time looking at realistic ways to understand, navigate, and overcome any concerns that you may have. My approach to treatment is practical and simple to apply.
