About me

Hello and welcome! My name is Laurie Laman and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Dallas, Texas. For the past five years, I have provided mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults in both academic and clinical environments. In my practice, I work with clients who are experiencing depression, stress, anxiety, panic disorders, social phobias, eating disorders, anger management, family issues, lack of motivation, and relationship issues. Additionally, I have worked with at-risk youth in helping them overcome the obstacles they may be facing, equipping them with the skills they need to live productive and fulfilling lives.
My counseling style is warm, empathetic, and respectful. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between client and therapist. Together, we will explore the issues that are causing you distress and develop goals and strategies to empower you to live a satisfying and fulfilling life.
Beginning therapy can be scary, and there may be people in your life who are not supportive of your decision. However, I believe that starting the therapeutic process involves a tremendous amount of courage and I respect you for taking this journey to wholeness and healing. I look forward to working with you!
