About Me
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Utah, and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Montana. I have worked with adults, adolescents, and children both in individual and group settings. I have helped many clients with anxiety and depression. Much of my work has been with clients in crises at an inpatient psychiatric facility, but I have also worked in day treatment and outpatient settings. I have been counseling since 1995, and have been independently licensed since 2008.
I like to focus on coping skills that a client can begin to use immediately, like mindfulness and positive self talk, and then move on to deeper emotional issues as a client is ready to share. I use mostly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I also like focusing on solution oriented and problems solving, along with motivational interviewing. It's important to me to meet a client where they are before we can focus on moving forward. I find many people can benefit from a communication "tune-up" that can help their relationships move in a more positive direction.
Outside of the office, I spend my time in the beautiful outdoors, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking in the summer, and downhill and cross country skiing in the winter. I really enjoy reading and some papercrafting with friends as well. I share my home with various furry friends and get a lot of comfort from my rabbits, guinea pigs, and dog.
Deciding to enter therapy is an exciting and sometimes scary decision. I am here to support you as you use your time and energy to create a more positive you working on the goals that you help identify.

Leah is a wonderful home base for me as a client. I have many times been brought back to our sessions and her cues. That is invaluable.
Amazing. She's great.
She’s great!!
Leah makes me feel comfortable and able to open up. She gives solid advice. I have been to several different therapist and now I have finally found the right one. 5 out of 5, would highly recommend.
Leah is always there to call me on my bullshit but always understand and great advice even though I don't always like or listen to what she has to say.
I would and highly recommend and appreciate Leah.
She's very helpful and encouraging, and I feel like she really listens.
Leah is a great listener and very understanding and easy to talk to. She helped me tremendously in just one session. She helped validate my feelings and also gave me some useful tools to help with my anxiety and depression.
Leah is awesome! She is straightforward and cuts to the heart of the problem. Not for the thinner-skinned or the weak of heart, though.
Just started but already proven to be a big help .
Leah is a great counselor. I benefited so much from my sessions with her that I feel my life has changed for better. I learned to actually “stand in other people’s shoes” to understand where they are coming from, which I had thought I always knew but not really. And it helped with my relationship with boyfriend, manager, colleagues and friends. Her style is a combination of listening attentively, reasoning the situation and giving out practical advice I can start practicing after each session. I have become more proactive and less stressed after a couple of sessions with her. I would recommend her to anyone who needs therapy.
Working with Leah has been very helpful and pleasant. Our weekly sessions have helped me stay on track with mindfulness and self-care.
I've had a couple of sessions with Leah and I am very happy about the support and interaction. I feel listened during our weekly calls and I really appreciate the follow up in between calls with text messages. It does make me feel better to have this level of support at different times during the week, when I'm having a difficult moment, and I trust I can get support from Leah.
Very knowledgeable and approachable.
With Leah, I often feel like I'm talking to a wise friend. I am comfortable opening up to her and our differences create strength in our conversations.
Leah is clearly an expert. She is also warm, personable, and very honest.
We've only had two sessions, but I feel confident that Leah understands my challenges and goals and is dedicated to helping me improve my relationship with myself and those around me.
After a couple of therapists that weren't a good fit for me, I was lucky to get Leah. I feel that I'm in good hands with someone that cares about my progress and takes her work seriously. I have nothing but good things to say about her.
Leah is really easy to talk to, it’s easy to send messages at convenient times for me, and she suggests useful ways to reconsider & approach situations. She’s quick to respond (time difference allowing!), but it’s much better than having to wait for a face to face session. I feel heard, and that there is somewhere I can go to express what I’m feeling. Much appreciated!
She’s the best!
Leah is an amazing therapist striking the right balance between empathy and accountability! She thoughtfully suggests new ways of thinking and doing that allow for real change to happen. She is engaged and professional. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to see a difference in their life.
Leah always knows how to cheer me up and restores hope in my current situation. When I don’t message her for a minute, she always checks up on me. She’s good at holding me accountable for my actions, but also validates my feelings. I always feel like I’m saying something important when I talk to Leah. Highly recommend to anyone!
Leah has been wonderful, very easy to talk to .
Leah has been great. She is quick to respond and has a way of listening and counseling that helps me process my life. I’d recommend her to anyone!
Leah has done a great job listening to me on the message boards and responds in a timely manner. She is helping me work through some personal self doubt and helping my fiancée understand what anxiety and depression are. She checks in with me when she hasn’t heard from me. I really do appreciate being able to message her anytime as things arise. Thank you BetterHelp for being there and being affordable.
