I am Leslie Boyett, and here are my thoughts about counseling. The counseling relationship requires genuineness and honesty. My clients are resilient. They can tell you that working with me is tedious but rewarding. If you are struggling to understand who you are or what your purpose is, then I am the counselor for you. As a counselor, I've spent the past eleven years helping people discover their authentic self while learning to find meaning in difficult life circumstances. My goal for each client is to be able to face difficult life experiences with a sense of self-compassion and gratitude. I've worked with people who've experienced the worst of human experiences- the Holocaust, World War II, sex trafficking, traumatic brain injury, terminal illness, and much more. Prior to becoming a counselor, I worked in the death care industry and spent several years in leadership roles in health care and education. My areas of expertise are spirituality, grief, integrative medicine, chronic pain management, and rebuilding self-worth after trauma. I draw from my diverse educational background and life experiences to help my clients discover a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in life. Coping skills are not the ultimate cure all to a life filled with suffering. We must understand the human condition and learn to face each day with a wise mind and compassionate spirit. By using integrative medicine and holistic practices, I'm able to help my clients gain insight about the mind-body connection and how spirituality plays a key role in healing emotional wounds. You don't have to avoid your feelings or feel afraid to face emotional pain any longer. Seeking help is the first step towards living a life filled with joy, peace, and purpose. I hope you'll allow me to join you on your journey of personal growth and self-awareness.
