About me

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist working with families, couples and individuals for the past twelve years in California. I attended Chapman University with a focus in Psychology and Counseling. I have had the pleasure of working in numerous multidisciplinary teams in California and with community and county agencies which has enriched and fulfilled my career and also in my client centered perspective. I have a background in trauma focused treatment as well as working with people with depression and bipolar disorder; including co-morbidity with perceptual disturbances and substance use. I have training in CBT and DBT which I find helpful with anger management, distress tolerance and coping strategies. I have had the pleasure to be involved in strategic solution focused treatment trainings which serve to fit our busy and fast paced lifestyles. It is my passion to help clients find a more mindful and pleasant life experience and it is my pleasure to enrich your life journey towards balance, comfort and peace.
The Danish have a word for a relaxing peaceful existence, "hygge" defined as a comfort, warmth and pleasure in the simple soothing things such as a cozy atmosphere or the feeling of friendship. An opportunity to seek contentment, a feeling of friendship and peace and cherishing the well being through all of the little things in life that provide comfort and joy.

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Leslie Rios Alzamora . We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Leslie has been a light in my mental health journey. I've been in therapy on-and-off for the better part of the past eight-ish years. Many people often compare the search for the "right" therapist to dating, and in my situation that could not ring more true. Until being matched with Leslie through BetterHelp, I had never found a therapist that felt like a good fit, which in turn stunted a lot of my progress within my mental health journey. In the roughly six months since beginning treatment with Leslie, I have made so much tangible progress and growth in my personal life and my relationship with my mental health. I have been diagnosed with ADHD, depression, and bipolar disorder - and she demonstrates a proven expertise in handling my diagnoses with strategic care and guidance. She provides patients with tangible goals to work towards and has provided me with resources that have assisted me in a myriad of ways. I cannot recommend working with Leslie enough. She is, by far, the best mental health professional that I have encountered in the past decade - and I could not be more grateful nor could I speak highly enough of her work.
