About me

Hello,

It's good that you're reaching out and I am a believer that part of the healing process leans on the connection (the fit) between therapist and client and so I invite you know a little about me. I pursued a Master's degree in mental health counseling and became a therapist in mid-life after having been widowed, remarried, and then experiencing a traumatic divorce that involved immense betrayal. I survived. Indeed, I grew. Ultimately I found happiness again and was blessed with a healthy relationship until it ended in his death from cancer. I have four grown amazing children. In all of that, I strengthened a belief that love and gratitude can shape the course of our lives significantly. I took that pain and chose to learn and grow.

Today, I specialize in teaching the combination of life skills that I learned and used with the psychological education I pursued after my divorce. I provide an experienced empathetic environment where my clients feel safe to explore their deepest fears, pursue self love, and reconcile their most authentic selves.

In my private practice, I've developed a reputation for being an effective couples counselor. I teach that the most successful relationships are those where each individual in the relationship learns to recognize and accept responsibility for their contribution; be it positive or negative. I help couples learn how to effectively communicate beyond the typical superficial complaints so that their partner has the opportunity to respond to the underlying feelings.

I am a firm believer that counseling and coaching are fundamental requirements for a quality life. After all, most of the things in life that we want to keep for a long time require some type of scheduled maintenance. Schedule your tune up now!

Warm regards.

My first session Leslyn didn’t waste time having me answer questionnaires. She helped me with exactly what I needed and quickly understood my way of thinking. I think she’s excellent and I look forward to seeing her regularly.
