Picking a counselor isn't easy, and the right fit is very important. Entering into a therapeutic relationship can be a game-changer and very healing. When I hear that someone has had a negative experience, I wonder if it was just a bad match? Much like a comfortable shoe, we all have preferences of how we connect with another person.
I am an educator, therapist, wife and parent, so my breadth of experience casts a wide net. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas, practicing for 10 years. This was a second career for me. I have a masters in Arts Administration and also did 20 years of volunteer work (Girls Scouts, PTA, Young Men's Service League, National Charity League, High School Lacrosse Booster and on and on). I worked for years at a child advocacy center, so children, adolescent and family therapy is second nature to me. I also spent several years helping families navigate social media and cell phone usage in a healthy way , so I have a very current feel for online activity and how it affects all of us, young and old.
I have worked with individuals for years and love empowering women and men by helping them push through a variety of issues. I have had extensive trauma training, so I always have a feel for if we need to use other methodologies or if a slower pace may need to take place. We're all doing the best we can in how we cope with change, transition or traumatic experiences, so I'm usually interested in working with what the client has found helpful before and adding new coping skills or pathways to explore.
I'm very skilled at solution-focused therapy, so clients who need quick solutions or fast response may receive that approach, if possible. My kids have entered into college but I'm very in tuned with how the working parent may feel in this fast paced, competitive environment that some neighborhoods may create. Sometimes we need quick fixes to problems since we are juggling so much in life.
I'm very knowledgeable and skilled at assisting adults with senior care decisions for their aging parents or family members. I have learned this personally the hard way but I'm a great "go to" for those who have home health, living, insurance and care issues that are thrown at them quickly when new to a caretaker role or wanting help in managing that role. Caring for our parents and loved ones is an awesome responsibility and can be daunting, so I have can ease that learning curve, if needed.
My therapy style and approach draws from a variety of influences: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Attachment Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, Elderly Care Therapy, Play Therapy and Narrative Therapy. I completed all the course work for Family and Marriage Therapy while in college but preferred to only complete my licensing for my LPC since that is all I needed to begin work privately. I believe in sharing many resources to assist a client arrive at a new understanding or consider trying something different. If you like homework or need more educational material to support your growth, then I love sharing recent research, enlightening videos, powerful reading choices and more. If you don't need more to read and that sounds like too much work , no problem.
I'm ready to support your needs and begin exploring what might make your life more productive and successful. As humans we are wired to connect, so working with a professional to uncover stagnant areas or ignite your life for the better starts with small steps. Signing up for this help platform is a great first step, and sharing your concerns or asking for help is the next step toward make a positive difference. I've posted a variety of working hours in hopes of making myself accessible to clients at different times since life can be unpredictable when it comes to obstacles.. Outside of the the Betterhelp site, the main frustration I've heard from past clients and friends is the problem with scheduling in-office appointments. Working with Betterhelp may be the best way to support your needs in a more timely approach. If I feel that you need additional in- office support in your city or if I worry there are any other risks for your welfare, I will discuss this with you privately.
When working with international clients, I will be acting more as a coach or consultant due to licensing requirement of my state.
I look forward to learning more about you.

Libba has been excellent. I am in much better mental health despite an ongoing existential crisis - thanks to Libba I am able to keep perspective, focus and inner peace.
Libba is amazing! I was going through rough times, but we work together to find out the source of my problems and over time we are able to eliminate them through counseling :) Talking is the best medicine!
Libba has been a great help in guiding me to where I need to be in regards to family relationships. She provided a variety of resources that I could use to help me understand my situation, while also issuing supportive, thoughtful and timely feedback. She was even-keeled in her interactions and offered well-balanced advice and supportive commentary.
I really can't say enough good things about the help and support Libba has provided to me in a truly difficult time. I would really very highly recommend Libba to anyone seeking help from a counsellor through this app. I'm addition to a truly caring manner and clearly deeply well informed professional knowledge, Libba has always been incredibly flexible with our sessions (particularly with the time difference between the US and the UK where I am based). Libba also has a great memory for the most minor details of our conversations. Thank you again for all the help you have provided to me Libba, and I hope that this review will serve to help more people connect with a truly exceptional counsellor in Libba.
