Struggling with Anxiety, depression, coping with life’s various struggles? Yes – You are strong enough to manage on your own, and it can be an enjoyable, challenging, effective, and collaborative process with a licensed mental health professional by your side. I utilize a holistic, integrated approach in order to adapt and meet each individual’s unique needs. Lasting change requires an ongoing openness and willingness to bring awareness to characteristics within ourselves that need attention. Each of us is perfectly imperfect just as we are, and can continue to strive for achieving greater freedom from discomfort. Ongoing contentment can be achieved!
Connection with others, self-acceptance, and intentional effort promotes healing. I truly believe in counseling and the difference it can make not only within ourselves, but our family system, and for generations to come. You can be the one to break the chain within your family!
I have had the honor of counseling individuals, families, and groups experiencing various ailments. Concerns included depression, anxiety, anger, behavioral issues, borderline personality disorder (BPD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Autism Spectrum related concerns, communication, and relationship issues. I utilized stress and time management techniques, wellness interventions, communication skills, assertiveness, career exploration, test-taking skills, resume building, coping skills, job seeking, burnout prevention and management, personal/work/school balance, and relaxation methods.
Evidence based practices are used in my counseling sessions, and I continue to review studies about best practices. An evidence based practice is a therapy approach that has been supported to work for specific issues, as evidenced by the outcomes of numerous research studies. I am a PhD Candidate in counselor education at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC), set to graduate in 2019. I received a M.S. in Clincial Mental Health Counseling from TAMUCC in 2016 and a B.S. in Human Development and Family Sciences in 2011.
