About me

My name is Lilly Maxwell, I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker-LICSW # 2490C licensed in the state of Alabama. I graduated from Oakwood University where I studied nursing, then I attended Alabama A& M University and obtained a Masters of Social Work degree -specialized in Mental Health and Substance Use disorders
I have over 10 years experience providing psychotherapy services from a empowerment /strength perspective framework. My passion is helping individuals, couples, young adults and families in distress reach their highest level of functioning and potential in life; to find their unique voices. As well as encourage the building of positive relationships.
I have extensive experience working in psychiatry and community mental health with individuals and families with mood disorders, addictions, trauma and suicidality. In my current practice I specialize in mental disorders; teaching coping strategies; life coaching; life skills training; grief and loss; geriatrics; and caregiver stress/burnout.
I utilize a client-centered and family-centered approach to meet the various needs of my clientele. I provide a holistic approach to clients' unmet needs-(an alternative form of psychotherapy) focusing on the whole person (mind, body, and spirit) and health. The goal is growth of the whole person.
