About Me
Hi! My name is Linda Guidry, but please, call me Lindy. (My mother was the only person to ever call me 'Linda!")
Are your life challenges holding you back? Do your current problems drain your energy and undermine your ability to reach your full potential? I believe that within each of us is the desire and the ability to thrive, love, connect, and succeed in life. At times it can be overwhelming to surmount the difficulties and stress of living in today’s world. You do not have to do it alone!
I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor and Counselor Supervisor. I am licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana and the state of Alaska. I have been working in the mental health field since 2004. I earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Guidance and Counseling in 2008 from the University of New Orleans. Over the past 16 years, I have worked in several venues: private practice, in the foster care system, in a day program for chronically ill adults, and in the non-profit sector. My experience includes working with individuals with mood disorders, anxiety and depression, anger issues and self control, self-esteem, grief and loss, and adult onset disability and chronic illnesses.
I would describe my approach as empathetic, goal oriented, and client centered. I use Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution focused therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness to help my clients set goals and objectives and to work through their difficulties to reach their full potential
We often find ourselves searching for balance and stability in our lives but have trouble figuring out how to achieve it. My job is to help you do just that. I am dedicated to assisting you, as my client, in pursuit of personal growth, to helping you to gain a better understanding and appreciation of yourself and others, and to support you as you make important changes and decisions about your life.
People seek out therapy for a wide variety of reasons. Sometimes it is an overwhelming lack of direction. Often, it's a result of major life changes, loss, psychological injuries, or specific issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, or grief. I offer a private, safe, non-judgmental, and confidential environment for you to explore your concerns, find relief and to bring joy and passion back into your life. I look forward to accompanying you on your journey of self-discovery, healing, happiness, and wellness!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Linda Guidry. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Lindy is the best!! Very caring and strives to help you reach all of your goals.
Lindy is very supportive and offers great insight and intervention techniques. Really appreciate her thoughtfulness, availability and her willingness to embrace and incorporate my Christian experience into our sessions and support. Highly recommend!!
Lindy has been a blessing in my life since I was paired with her over a year ago. I'm so happy she was able to get her license in Alaska. And I'm so thankful to Betterhelp for offering this method of therapy, finding a therapist that fits can be difficult and it's difficult enough to open up and be vulnerable, Lindy has a way of making that easy.
A perfect fit
All around fantastic. Makes me feel heard, and helps me find a path through my depression. I would recommend her to anyone everytime.
I am so grateful to have worked with Lindy. As mentioned by others, I have worked with many other therapists in my life and she has by far been the most attuned, compassionate and effective. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to grow and improve their life.
She is the best therapist I have ever had, and I have had eight therapists before her with other companies.
Lindy is a well rounded therapist who is very compassionate with her clients. She is open minded and is accepting of everyone. She helped me view some situations in a different way that helped me understand how I was feeling. She's a 10/10 in my eyes!
Lindy has been very accommodating with her schedule and time. She also seems dedicated to finding ways to help me even so far as to go buy a book I had mentioned that had been beneficial to me.
I love her!
She is very caring and wise. She spends so much time messaging me to ensure that I am okay and progressing especially when she knew I was facing particularly rough times. Her experience with grief counseling is very helpful as she helped me identify my triggers and avoid things that will make my grief worse. I’ve recommended her to several friends.
Linda, Lindy, is a great support during very difficult times. She is easy to talk to and listens without judgment. I have shared betterhelp with others because of the professional yet caring treatment I received and continue to receive from Lindy. My sessions have sometimes been emotional challenging due to the many stressors in my life, but Lindy has helped me through them and assisted in helping me find balance while reducing stress and anxiety.
I would refer her to the world.
I love Lindy! She is so thoughtful, caring, and helpful.
I’m am just getting started with Lindy, but so far she is great!
The best way I can explain Linda is, she is like that wise, acceptable, and caring grandma that you want to tell everything to. Sincerity oozes out of her, and you truly know that she cares about you! Such a good first experience
Lindy is absolutely amazing. She is so kind, thoughtful, and extremely helpful. I have learned so much from her in such a short period of time, and can already feel a sense of growth in myself because of her expertise.
Lindy has been so helpful. She is very compassionate and helps me find solutions to problems
Even though I haven’t had that many sessions with counselor Linda I have gotten helped from her already. She understands my concerns and she gives me feed back.
Lindy is extremely helpful! She has helped me to see things from different perspectives and learn new ways to handle my emotions and negative thoughts. She truly cares and it shows in every conversation we have.
MS. Lindy is a breath of fresh air!
Lindy provided me with great resources during our work together, she is a wealth of knowledge.
Lindy is warm, welcoming, and was able to quickly identify what I was struggling with. I feel like we aligned perfectly. Looking forward to our next session! Thank you Lindy!
Lindy has been such a great counseling match for me. She takes the time to listen, provides professional and non-judgmental feedback, and she provides goals to focus on to keep us on track in our sessions. She's quick to respond and even checks in on me periodically via messages between our sessions.
Lindy is compassionate and understand. She offers new perspective to my personal struggles, and in the most kind and gentle way, provided me with truth and tools to use in my everyday life to move past my struggles. I hope to continue on with Lindy in counseling. From this journey, I hope to grow as a person with her, a professional walking with me through this heavy season of my life. In the short time that I've worked with her, she's offered me hope that there is life and light at the end of this tunnel. Thank you Lindy!
