I am licensed in Georgia with 25 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, depression, & coping with life changes. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
Taking the client's lead, I utilize two primary counseling approaches. The first one is CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy). It's a collaborative way of helping the client change thoughts and behaviors that are no longer helpful to them. New insights can be supported with mindfulness, breath work, and life-style changes.
The second approach is more introspective for the client who wants a deeper understanding of themselves. Archetypes are used as an objective way to explore the ego, emotions, mental activity, relationships, personal drive, aspirations and limitations. Enneagram work can be an additional way to view your personality strengths /weaknesses, and give you greater insight into how you have adapted to life.
I have worked as a Behavioral Health Care Advocate managing Inpatient care and discharge planning for 17 years, and 8 years in the Outpatient setting. I am familiar with the continuum of care for Mental Health, Substance Abuse. Issues related to aging and complex medical conditions can have a profound effect on mental health and wellbeing. I am looking forward to being back in direct care and providing counseling and support in the Outpatient setting.
Additional areas of focus: Grief, Self esteem, Aging and Geriatric Issues, Cancer, Caregiver Issues and Stress, Chronic Pain Illness and Disability, Codependency, Commitment Issues, Emptiness, Family of Origin Issues, Forgiveness, Guilt and Shame, HIV / AIDS, Impulsivity, Life Purpose, Military and Veterans Issues, Mood Disorders, Self-Love, Social Anxiety and Phobia
Clinical approaches: Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

I have very high standards for others than myself - therefore, I was a bit hesitant of working with a therapist because I always think I know what is best for myself and find it difficult to discuss the judgement of others. Yet Linda is the most wonderful, intelligent and experienced therapist I have ever worked with. Linda listens to my concerns and gives me a safe space and a fresh perspective on so many areas of my life. She is incredibly knowledgable and knows how to dive deeper into areas I need to work on. Very grateful to have her as my therapist and would recommend her to everyone.

Linda is AMAZING!!! Great listener and will help you with your struggles in little steps at a time. She’s also wonderful at letting you know that you’re doing a great job, because let’s be honest we all like some positive feedback.

I was very sceptical about starting therapy and was very nervous I wouldn’t click with my therapist but to my surprise I never felt more comfortable talking to Linda, she gives off such a warm, caring attitude and I’m so thankful to have been matched with her

I have found myself at ease with Linda from the word go. You can tell from the conversations we have she is a great listener and not judgemental at all. I look forward to continuing my therapy with her help.

Linda Harris is a wonderful therapist, she listened carefully to my problems and was very understanding. I was unable to continue seeing her due to financial struggles (despite the fair cost of therapy through BetterHelp), otherwise I would have loved to keep her as my therapist longer!
