So, you're looking for a therapist and not sure how to choose among all the excellent therapists BetterHelp has to offer? It IS important to have a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and who has expertise in the areas of concern that have brought you to this site. Am I the right therapist for you? Maybe. Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been a Social Worker for 34 years and have worked in a wide variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient mental health, in private practice, on military bases, and in VA hospitals. I am licensed in both South Carolina and in Louisiana. I have also worked overseas in Germany and Turkey. The thing I want you most to know about me is that I believe you have the answers to your own problems and that my role is to help you discover those answers. You are the expert on your own life. I am not the leader of your journey - I just point you in the right direction and give you support along the way. My work style is relaxed and informal. The pace is set by my patient as he or she feels comfortable and comes to trust me. If you think I might be the right therapist for you, I look forward to getting to know you.
My particular areas of expertise:
Veterans issues: Although not a Veteran myself, I have worked extensively with Veterans, including those just back and trying to adjust to life as a civilian and those who are still coping with the fallout from their time in Vietnam. I have helped Veterans cope with the devastating effects of PTSD and suicidal ideation.

Omg, I don't think I could have asked for a better person to help me. She understands me in so many ways and she has opened my eyes and made me understand my inner strength. Thank you thank you thank you. There is life after a bad breakup.
I’ve put off therapy for a long time ignoring everyone who told me to. I don’t like to talk about this stuff and I was extremely nervous but talking to Linda has made me open up more. She’s also got me to talk on the phone which I was extremely nervous to do but glad I did. Video call tomorrow
Linda understands me and is always open minded
Just meeting Linda but she made me feel immediately comfortable but at the same time willing to hold me accountable and be sensitive to my condition. So excited and grateful to have found her.
She’s so open and kind and insightful!
Linda is very compassionate and listens. It means a lot
Linda has been an excellent counselor for me. I really needed a counselor that could help me learn to use tools to manage and navigate certain situations. Linda is the first counselor that I've worked with that is able to consistently offer tools and techniques for situations in my life that cause anxiety, sadness or guilt. I appreciate that Linda hears what I am saying and I am relieved to have found a counselor that I can trust to help me navigate my world.
I have had two sessions with Linda and I feel comfortable and at ease with her. I’m looking forward to moving forward.
Linda is extremely compassionate and intelligent. I appreciate her suggestions, advice and honesty. I feel extremely fortunate to have had Linda to talk to while going through a transition in my life. Linda has been tremendously helpful, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
A few short sessions with Linda have given me hope that we can identify my pain points and find resolutions. She has given me tasks to keep me engaged .
Linda has been so helpful. I finally felt understood and supported. I've made a lot of progress in our short time working together and the tools she has given me to help work through my struggles have been effective. I can't thank her enough honestly.
So far Linda has been a better counselor that my previous ones. Much more engaged and asks better questions
She is terrific so far- we have only had a couple of sessions but I feel like we are a good fit
Linda is a very warm, easy to talk to person offering good contact outside of my video sessions with her, giving me the comfort of support if needed. I would highly recommend her as I feel I am being guided to the right support and information.
Linda really listens and cares about my concerns and what I need to work on. I really enjoy working with her so far and it has been extremely beneficial.
Linda is amazing! She listens and also provides me with helpful activities to get to the issues that I’m really trying to explore. She’s informative without being overbearing or pushy while maintaining a professional demeanor. I really appreciate her
