About me

Hi everyone, my name is Lindsay Wienberg. I was born and raised in New York. I am married with one child. I am the middle sibling with two sisters. I have always enjoyed working with children, young adults and professionals. I have been working in the field for the past seven years. I first started in the field as an Intensive Case Manager for children, worked in group homes for disabled individuals (this work also included families), I then worked in a clinic where I worked with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. My last job in an agency setting, was working with individuals who were learning to cope with a diagnosis of Schizophrenia. This work also included work with their families, or anyone they felt was of importance in their lives.

During my work in the clinic and working with individuals who experience schizophrenia I experienced in crisis intervention. I like to utilize the strength of the individual as a starting point with any of the individuals I have worked with. Although it is difficult when we are experiencing something that feels uncomfortable or unmanageable within us, it is always important to go back to the beginning of our story. Remember we are all human! We experience a wide range of emotions, this is normal. I also like to use parts of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as they have been found to be helpful for those experiencing anxiety or depression.

My counseling style is interactive, and I like to leave the session with a question. It gives us a starting point for the following session, and therapy is here to make us think! I believe everyone has the right to be heard, and your feelings are important and they matter. I do not believe in minimizing someone's feelings as it does to aid in the therapeutic process. Your treatment plan and goals is a collaborative process. I am here to assist you with your goals.

I like to tell my clients and those who are on the fence about treatment, how often are you able to talk to someone and have their attention? Nowadays this seems like a difficult thing since we all have such busy lives. But here, I am willing to take the time to listen, ask questions to ensure my understanding and utilize skills to help you achieve what you need to no longer need me. Please be aware, I am requiring a 24 hour in advance cancellation policy. I do understand that emergencies happen, they happen to us all! Please be mindful if something occurs, and reach out. After two cancellations without 24 hour notice, there will be an open dialogue regarding continuing services together.

I am here to help, and looking forward to talking with you.
