About me

“Empathy is simply listening, holding space, withholding judgment, emotionally connecting, and communicating that incredibly healing message of you’re not alone.”
-Brene Brown

My name is Lindsey and I am a licensed professional counselor and national certified counselor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One of the greatest sources of joy and fulfillment in my life is being an empowering support for others, and this passion led me into the counseling profession. Above most other things, I believe that there is inherent good in all of us. Each individual is important, has something significant to offer the world, and has the resources within them to create a beautiful life worth living. I would love to be a part of your journey in creating the life you want.

I have spent the last five years working in a variety of mental health treatment settings including an inpatient psychiatric hospital, a partial hospital, and multiple outpatient clinics. While working in a hospital setting, I worked with clients ranging in age from pediatrics to geriatrics suffering from a wide range of psychiatric issues including self-harm and suicide, anxiety, ADHD, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, and substance abuse. While working in the hospital, i recognized my passion for treating clients who struggle with disordered eating in particular. The majority of my outpatient clinical experience has been with adults and adolescents suffering from Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, OCD, anxiety, trauma and abuse, and self-harm/suicide.

I started my college career as a fine arts major at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania until i transitioned into the psychology department. Creative arts has stuck around as an element of my clinical practice. I graduated from Point Park University with a BA in psychology, and graduated from Carlow University with a Master of Science in Professional Counseling. My theoretical approach is typically integrative of client-centered, humanistic, and feminist theories. I have also received extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and approach clinical practice through this lens. My therapeutic style is warm, empathetic, and empowering. I believe humor and creativity are valuable coping tools, and this translates into my style of communication. Reaching out for support can be difficult and vulnerable, and you are deserving of help.

When I am not working, I enjoy travelling, seeing live music, playing ukulele, and spending quality time with loved ones. You can typically find me wherever there is music, comedy, warm weather, and cats.
