About me

Hello! My name is Lisa Bettcher and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Florida. I have been working directly with clients on improving their mental, emotional, behavioral, and relational well-being and functioning since 2011. I have worked with families, couples, and individuals who have struggled with a wide array of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, addiction, abuse and neglect, relational and communication issues, stress, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, and life changes, among other difficulties of life.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences and then went on to earn my Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have always had a desire to help others and give back and am grateful for all of the opportunities I have had to do so in my career thus far. I have worked with a wide range of populations and presenting issues since I began in this field, which has helped me grow as a therapist and as a person.
I would describe my approach as client-centered, systemic, non-pathologizing, goal-oriented, warm and empathetic. Therapeutic techniques I utilize include Solution-Focused Brief Therapy approaches, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt techniques, MRI and Motivational Interviewing techniques, among others. I have training in Psychodrama and Sociodrama techniques, as well. I will individualize my approach and techniques to best suit your needs, as I believe that there is no “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to therapy.
I believe my role is to support and guide you during times of distress and change, as well as in times of stability and ease. I can provide psychoeducation, but my main focus is on helping you find your strength and empowerment to live your best life and more fully embody the you that you enjoy being.
I know what a personal journey the therapy process is, and I appreciate you sharing your time and energy with me as we work together through whatever brought you here. I look forward to working with you!
