About Me

Hello! My name is Lisa M. Joswick and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the Midwest. I have been working as a therapist in private practice for nearly 20 years treating children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from a profession school in Chicago, Illinois and I've been working passionately in the mental health field since 1996. I will offer a safe, judgment-free space for you to process and discuss whatever is on your mind. Establishing a healthy rapport will be our first priority and we will move along at a pace that is comfortable for you. I tend to use Cognitive Behavioral Techniques and Solution Focused Therapy with my clients. I strongly believe that our thoughts and feeling directly connect to how we make decisions and choices in our lives. I have experience with treating Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment Issues, Self Injury, ADHD, Grief & Loss, Self-Esteem Issues, Eating Disorders, Parenting Issues, Relationship Conflicts and Trauma.

We all struggle in our lives, but we don't have to be alone in this struggle. Therapy can provide you with a safe place to heal, learn and grow. I've been blessed to work with so many wonderful clients over the years and I've learned that everyone deserves to be heard, no feeling is insignificant and no two people think alike. The therapy process is unique for everyone and I can support you through taking this brave step towards improved mental health.

Written by M.I. on Jun 01, 2020 after counseling with Lisa for 4 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, relationship issues, and career difficulties

Lisa has been so helpful. She gives me great perspective and has gotten to know me very well in the last 6 months. I really appreciate having her in my life.

I will say I was skeptical how this video chat would work out but it turns out I really like it. I’ve done in person therapy in the past. This saves a lot of time not having to commute to an office and it’s easier to reschedule.
