About me

Hello!  Sometimes we all need a sounding board to help us navigate those difficult storms in our lives. Have you ever wondered," how will I move forward? What should I do next? I know what I’m supposed to be doing but I just can’t? I feel paralyzed by uncertainty or fear." It might be that you are at your wits end in a relationship, have experienced a loss, or have unresolved trauma or resentment.  If any of these sound familiar to you, I can help!

We can work together to help you identify your strengths, while implementing new tools to help you gain confidence, reduce stress, and move past barriers that have kept you from living your best life and reaching your goals. I use various strategies including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing to help guide you through your change process. Also, I am always working to improve my skill set.

I have a master's degree in social work from Concord University and am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). My previous work has included mental health and substance use therapy as well as group therapy for substance use. I have also worked with individuals in crisis, grief, the veteran population, and many women. I have a special interest and have spent a great deal of time learning about the effects of trauma and its impact on mental health. I’m looking forward to an upcoming training to start the process of becoming certified in EMDR therapy.

Beyond my professional life, I have a passion for art and nature. Painting, drawing, hiking, kayaking, and listening to music are some of my favorite activities. I raised two young men as a single mom, and I am now traveling the United States (in an RV), with my husband, who is a traveling nurse. I know what it is like to face significant challenges in life and overcome them. I also believe my personal experiences in life have enhanced my ability to help others. If you think that we would be a good fit, I would love to work with you!

Lisa is an amazing person. She is kind and helpful and provides a great balance of support, while also being able to guide me to open my eyes and mind to other options and potential helpers....without judgement.

Mrs. Lisa immediately made me feel heard and seen and took so much unease/discomfort away from me that I felt while starting the therapy process for the first time. She takes time to listen and really help me reflect on the thoughts and words I tell myself. I appreciate the support I’ve been given and look forward to continuing with her
